The existing house street front was a good example of a well kept Mt Victoria villa. The rear had a series of poor additions leaving the west facing back yard disconnected from the house.
The intention was to open the rear of the house to the back garden and form a new contemporary addition which complimented but did not mimic the original house.
Scale, proportion, light, and materials are arranged in a programme of transition from arrival, to the original villa, through to the open plan living of the new addition and garden.
The building work was carried out by Ben Nansett of MPB Builders, the interior selections by Kurio, and landscape design by Ben Hoyle design.
